Job Description

My client is a top tier re - insurer who offer treaty services covering a range of lines across Asia Pacific, EMEA and the Americas, tailor-making risk transfer and capital management vehicles to best fit clients’ needs.

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Manage accounting and reporting for group operations especially overseas entities. Review reports, financial statements to ensure compliance with different regulated regime in Asia Pacific.
  • To ensure accuracy, completeness and properly book of all transactions (including business and investment transactions). Ensure accuracy of investment asset valuation, amortisation and accounting of foreign exchange impact.
  • To lead and assist in ad-hoc projects, accurately compilation of ad hoc internal and external reports as required, including due diligence and provide financial implications on M&A and new transactions.
  • Involve heavily in adoption of new IFRS.
  • Adhere to highest standards in financial reporting (for both GI and L&H), maintain proper accounting record in an accurate, complete and timely manner. The high quality information/analysis/advices provided should facilitate business steering and decision making.
  • Drive planning/projection processes by providing financial estimates/ scenarios based on business planned and support capital planning.
  • Identify and understand key drivers for financial results; closely monitor and rigorously challenge the reasonableness of figures. Review finance estimates impact of business written and year end forecast during the course of the year to ensure targets are met and managed effectively via interactive coordination with all functions.
  • Maintain effective control and address control issues on timely basis over all  financial operations.
  • To drive the agreed working procedures / processes, continue to seek area of improvements to ensure process and system effectiveness.
  • Be professional, timely and transparent in communication with clients, other stakeholders and shareholders.
  • Empower team member/subordinates/peers with knowledge transfer.

Background

  • At least 8 years financial reporting experience
  • Excellent IFRS experience
  • Experience in Initial Public Offer project and familiar with listing reporting requirements 
  • Solid investment accounting experience
