One of the world's leading banks is currently looking for a VP - financial reporting on a contract basis for 12 months. This is to fill in for the current incumbent who will be seconded to a project for the upcoming year. The details are as follows:
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for the performance of financial reporting and operational/transactional accounting
- Implementing the global financial reporting strategy, and develops and executes strategy and policies while ensuring all deadlines are achieved
- Responsible for accounting policy and reporting of all balance sheet items in Singapore HQ
- Provide accounting advice to support the accounting for major business transaction events, i.e. new product launches and asset transfers
- Liaising with the business and providing support where necessary for the implementation of new accounting standards and policies
- Ensuring compliance with IFRS and local GAAP as appropriate
- Liaise with external auditors in relation to annual statutory accounts
- Co-ordinate the testing of system upgrades and propose automation or enhancements
- Manage the resources allocated to financial reporting and accounting policy
- Review and investigate general ledger imbalance and manual accounting entries
- Manage operational risk, including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting
Candidate requirements:
- Degree in Accountancy or Finance or equivalent professional qualification
- Minimum 7 to 10 years relevant experience
- Has extensive years of experience in banking industry including reporting to head office
- An appreciation of accounting concepts
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Analytical with a keen eye for details
- An aptitude for systems work and strong computer skills
