A global bank with substantial presence in APAC is looking for a VP, Operational Risk, to join a tight-knit ORM team in Singapore.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with senior stakeholders providing advice and consultation on ORM matters; ensuring risks are identified and control self-assessments are performed on a regular basis
- Act as an influencer to the 1LOD teams and functions to ensure adherence to ORM framework
- Conduct events/issues monitoring, review and ensure it is mitigated in a timely manner
- Perform due diligence for new products and outsourcing reviews
- Participate in global non-financial risk initiatives relating to risk agendas and project-focused work
- Undertake ad-hoc duties as they arise
Qualifications:
- Degree in banking or finance or related field
- 10 years’ experience in operational risk within a corporate, wholesale, or investment bank
- Experience with SOX compliance considered an advantage
- Excellent communication skills, able to present and influence at all levels of an organisation
- Self-starter who can drive processes and stakeholders, is able to work independently as well as come together as part of a larger group risk function
- Analytical and proactive individual with a good sense of humour
