Actuary

A specialty insurer is looking to hire a Commercial Lines Pricing Actuary to join their team. This is a hybrid position in Texas, Chicago, Virginia.

Key Functions:

• Develop and deliver presentations to explain actuarial concepts and findings.
• Provide guidance on actuarial principles to non-actuarial team members.
• Serve as a representative for the department on cross-functional teams.
• Support corporate goals and initiatives while mentoring junior staff members.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Proficient in SQL, Excel, Access, R, and Python.
• Familiarity with annual statements.
• Strong understanding of actuarial techniques and methodologies.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Strong presentation and public speaking abilities.
• Collaborative team player with analytical, quantitative, and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• ACAS or FCAS (near ACAS will be considered)
• 3-5 years of experience
• Prior reserving experience desired as well as pricing
• BA in Mathematics, Finance, Business or related field
