Cybersecurity Engineer (Endpoint protection)

My client is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer with a strong security engineering background to manage and enhance our endpoint and server protection capabilities. You will be primarily responsible for engineering and overseeing server-side security controls, while acting as a technical advisor for the infrastructure team on endpoint security. Your expertise will help mature our defenses across the organization, particularly in environments leveraging Trend Micro, M365, and Active Directory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead security engineering efforts focused on server-side protection, including malware defense and vulnerability management.
• Act as a technical advisor to the infrastructure team managing endpoint security, providing recommendations to improve security posture and controls.
• Evaluate, manage, and enhance Trend Micro security solutions across server and endpoint environments.
• Identify gaps and opportunities in current endpoint/server protections and propose improvements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent security policy enforcement across the M365 ecosystem and Windows endpoints.
• Assist in the configuration and tuning of detection technologies (XDR/EDR) and review security alerts from endpoint and server systems.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of layered defense strategies and ensure alignment with compliance and regulatory standards.
• Work closely with vendor on server-side malware response efforts and investigations.
• Support incident response efforts and root cause analysis related to endpoint/server security events.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in security engineering with a focus on endpoint and server protection.
• Hands-on experience managing and configuring Trend Micro security solutions.
• Familiarity with M365 and Active Directory (AD) environments.
• Understanding of XDR/EDR platforms for both endpoint and server environments.
• Knowledge of Palo Alto security technologies is a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills related to malware, threat detection, and endpoint hardening.

Preferred Experience:

• 3-7 years in a cybersecurity or endpoint/server protection engineering role.
• Experience with enterprise environments and hybrid cloud setups.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Trend Micro Apex One/Deep Security, and M365 Defender suite.
• Industry certifications such as CEH, GCED, CySA+, or Microsoft Security certifications are a plus.
