A leading international speciality insurance company is looking to hire an Actuarial Director (Reserving) for a unique endeavour. This is a fully remote position with management opportunities in the near future.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement strategies for evaluating and managing risk, analysing the financial implications of various exposures on the organisation.

  • Translate high-level strategic goals into actionable plans, aligning initiatives across departments to ensure cohesive execution.

  • Present and explain complex actuarial analyses and recommendations to executive leadership, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies in a clear and meaningful way.

  • Lead the preparation and validation of financial and statutory reports, maintaining compliance with regulatory and accounting standards.

  • Direct the reserving process to ensure financial adequacy, accuracy, and regulatory compliance in liability estimation.

  • Evaluate and approves rate structures and policy forms, providing guidance on adjustments, preparing filings, and managing regulatory responses.

  • Partner with product development teams to conduct pricing analyses and offer strategic insights to support profitability and innovation.

  • Incorporate market trends, customer data, and emerging risks into product design to enhance the relevance and competitiveness of offerings.

  • Drive key initiatives that promote data-driven decisions, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen client retention in line with organisational goals.

  • Oversee and mentors a team of actuarial staff, setting performance expectations, managing budgets, and identifying opportunities for cost optimisation.

  • Stay informed on industry developments, best practices, and competitive trends to ensure strategic alignment and forward-thinking actuarial leadership.

Qualifications:

-ACAS or FCAS required

-7 or more years of P&C Actuarial experience

-Reserving experience in the UK, US, or Bermuda market

-Strong communication and technical skills required

-Prior leadership experience is ideal
