A leading international speciality insurance company is looking to hire an Actuarial Director (Reserving) for a unique endeavour. This is a fully remote position with management opportunities in the near future.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement strategies for evaluating and managing risk, analysing the financial implications of various exposures on the organisation.
Translate high-level strategic goals into actionable plans, aligning initiatives across departments to ensure cohesive execution.
Present and explain complex actuarial analyses and recommendations to executive leadership, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies in a clear and meaningful way.
Lead the preparation and validation of financial and statutory reports, maintaining compliance with regulatory and accounting standards.
Direct the reserving process to ensure financial adequacy, accuracy, and regulatory compliance in liability estimation.
Evaluate and approves rate structures and policy forms, providing guidance on adjustments, preparing filings, and managing regulatory responses.
Partner with product development teams to conduct pricing analyses and offer strategic insights to support profitability and innovation.
Incorporate market trends, customer data, and emerging risks into product design to enhance the relevance and competitiveness of offerings.
Drive key initiatives that promote data-driven decisions, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen client retention in line with organisational goals.
Oversee and mentors a team of actuarial staff, setting performance expectations, managing budgets, and identifying opportunities for cost optimisation.
Stay informed on industry developments, best practices, and competitive trends to ensure strategic alignment and forward-thinking actuarial leadership.
Qualifications:
-ACAS or FCAS required
-7 or more years of P&C Actuarial experience
-Reserving experience in the UK, US, or Bermuda market
-Strong communication and technical skills required
-Prior leadership experience is ideal
