Eames Consulting is currently partnering with a leading Lloyd's insurer on the appointment of a Risk Manager. This role will be based in London and aids the Head of Risk Management in driving robust risk outcomes across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Framework Implementation & Risk Culture
Support the Head of Risk Management in delivering the risk strategy and embedding the risk management framework across the business, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and promoting a strong risk-aware culture.
Risk Oversight & Advisory
Provide second line challenge and advice to the first line, including risk assessments, event management, emerging risk analysis, and ensuring risks are appropriately identified, measured, mitigated, and reported.
Monitoring, Reporting & Governance
Maintain risk registers, monitor risk appetite metrics, assess controls, and produce regular and ad hoc risk reports for governance bodies (e.g. ExCo and Boards) across legal entities.
Issue & Event Management
Lead the management of risk events and support thematic reviews, investigations, and assessments on projects, emerging risks, third-party arrangements, and other key initiatives.
Collaboration, Training & Projects
Work collaboratively with stakeholders on risk mitigation, support internal model and ORSA activities, deliver risk training, contribute to departmental projects, and provide risk input on new business or regulatory developments.
Key Requirements:
Risk & Audit Expertise
Proven experience in risk management, internal or external audit, supported by relevant professional qualifications.
Industry Knowledge
Strong understanding of the general insurance industry, with preference for experience in the Lloyd's or broader insurance market; knowledge of Solvency II and Lloyd's requirements is an advantage.
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
Excellent report writing and presentation skills; able to engage, challenge, and influence stakeholders at all levels, including Senior Management and Directors.
Analytical & Deadline-Driven Approach
Ability to deliver pragmatic, solutions-focused outcomes within tight deadlines, while maintaining collaborative relationships with business stakeholders.
Professional Awareness & Qualifications
Awareness of current risk management trends and best practices, with the ability to contribute thought leadership when required; holds a university degree and/or relevant professional certification.
