Role Overview

As an IT Project Manager - Payments, you will lead end-to-end delivery of high-impact technology projects focused on cross-border payments, working closely with product owners, engineering teams, and senior stakeholders. You will bring deep industry knowledge and hands-on technical acumen to navigate and drive initiatives across the payments value chain within corporate banking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full project lifecycle: scoping, planning, execution, delivery, and post-implementation review.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams across business and technology functions to deliver payment systems enhancements.
  • Oversee integration of cross-border payment solutions (e.g., SWIFT, ISO 20022, real-time payments).
  • Coordinate with vendors, partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Monitor risk, compliance, and quality assurance across all project phases.
  • Report regularly to senior management on project status, risks, and performance metrics.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in financial services, with at least 5 years in IT project management roles.
  • Strong expertise in payments domain, particularly cross-border and high-value transactions in corporate banking.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale transformation or systems implementation projects in banking.
  • Familiarity with SWIFT messaging, ISO 20022 standards, payment gateways, and settlement systems.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency - able to liaise effectively between business and technical teams.
  • Agile and/or PMP certification is a strong advantage.
