A global speciality insurance carrier is looking to hire a Senior Actuarial Analyst. This is a hybrid role based in NY OR IL. There may be more than one opening.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze new and existing lines of business to support strategic objectives focused on profitable growth and cost-based pricing.
- Evaluate potential business opportunities and provide data-driven insights and actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with actuaries and underwriters to present findings clearly and revise assumptions or structures to better reflect risk profiles.
- Deliver presentations of actuarial results to a range of audiences, ensuring both technical and non-technical stakeholders understand key implications.
- Identify and escalate emerging actuarial issues to the appropriate teams in a timely and effective manner.
- Support the professional development of junior team members through mentorship and knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of relevant P&C Actuarial experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or analytical field such as mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science.
- Successful completion of a minimum of 4 actuarial exams through the CAS or SOA, with clear progress toward Associate or Fellowship designation in the Casualty Actuarial Society.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and solid overall computer literacy.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with SQL and familiarity with data science tools such as R or Python.
- Solid foundation in both pricing and reserving methodologies.
