The VP, Technology Risk Lead is responsible for driving the management and oversight of technology-related risks across the organization. This role plays a critical part in strengthening the technology risk control environment by leveraging data analytics to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate potential risks. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with technology and business teams, ensuring risk frameworks are robust, controls are effective, and actionable insights support senior management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Technology Risk Management
- Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of technology risk management frameworks, ensuring alignment with the organization's overall risk strategy.
- Perform comprehensive risk assessments of technology processes, systems, and projects, identifying control gaps and proposing mitigation strategies.
- Oversee cyber risk exposures, system resilience, third-party risks, and regulatory compliance relating to technology.
- Data Analytics and Reporting
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards that provide real-time insights into technology risk exposures and trends.
- Leverage advanced analytics to automate risk monitoring, issue detection, and reporting workflows.
- Produce detailed, data-driven risk analysis and communicate findings with clear actionable recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaboration & Advisory
- Partner with technology owners, business units, and operational risk teams to ensure the effectiveness of controls and foster a strong risk culture.
- Advise project and system owners on risk management best practices related to emerging technologies, digital transformation, and cloud adoption.
- Audit, Compliance, and Continuous Improvement
- Support internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, and incident investigations.
- Review and update policies, procedures, and controls in line with evolving business objectives, threat landscapes, and compliance requirements.
- Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the technology risk function through process improvement and innovation.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Risk Management, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CISA, CRISC, CISSP) are advantageous.
- Strong hands-on experience in technology risk management, IT controls, or cyber risk within financial services or similarly regulated environments.
- Advanced proficiency in analytics tools and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau) to automate data processing and generate insights.
- Solid understanding of enterprise risk frameworks, technology operations, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills-able to translate technical risk topics for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
