Data Platform Lead

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning and delivery of data platform projects and system changes following the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Act as a data architect involved in logical and physical data modeling, collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement data strategies using cloud-based data services.
• Develop data models to support data marts and enterprise data warehouses.
• Manage data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure data quality and availability.
• Influence and guide technical direction and architectural decisions.
• Lead technical reviews with engineering teams.
• Participate in solution design discussions with stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to data engineers and analysts.
• Evaluate new data technologies and tools, making recommendations for adoption and integration.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
• Monitor and optimize data platform performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with data governance teams to identify and address governance requirements and ensure integration with existing platforms.
• Implement data management best practices, including data cataloguing, lineage tracking, and metadata management in cloud environments.
• Provide ongoing system maintenance and level 3 support.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in management information systems, data management, analytics, or related roles, preferably within regulated industries.
• Experience leading mid-sized data or IT project implementations.
• Proven ability to design and implement scalable data solutions using cloud platforms.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Relevant certifications in cloud data engineering or architecture are advantageous.
• Familiarity with cloud data management, data warehousing, data mart development, and data visualization technologies is beneficial.
• Project management or process improvement certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, SCRUM, or ITIL are an advantage.
