Established Investment Bank is currently searching for an Accounting Policy & Advisory VP to join their London team. This is newly created role to support an expected wave of new products the bank will be transacting and will report directly to the Global Head of Accounting Policy.

Responsibilities:

· Lead on technical accounting advice in respect of all of the Bank's EMEA & International entities activities

· Key point of contact for Front Office to advise on the accounting implications of their business and actively ensuring that they are aware of forthcoming accounting changes and their impacts

· Advising on accounting policy for new products, new deals, restructurings and complex transactions

· Provide training to both the front and back office on accounting developments

· Active engagement with external auditors on policy matters

· Issuing new accounting policies under IFRS

· Advising on accounting and classification for consolidation reporting under IFRS, UK, US and Japanese GAAP

· Reviewing disclosures and supporting the Financial Reporting teams in the preparation of the various companies' Financial Statements to ensure compliance with accounting requirements and best practice

· Attendance at industry groups to represent the Group's perspective and gain insights into market practice

· Involvement in ad-hoc projects as required

Requirements:

· Qualified Accountant with Post Qualified experience (Ideally ACA but ACCA considered)

· Proven experience in either a top 10 practice within a technical accounting/advisory team or in a technical accounting/policy team from the Banking industry.

· Strong knowledge of IFRS & UK/US GAAP Accounting Standards

· Extensive experience of accounting standards for financial instruments (IFRS9)

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Proven process improvement and problem solving skills

· Strong academic background - minimum 2:1 (or equivalent) degree
