A global insurance carrier is looking to hire an AVP Actuary, Commercial Auto, to their team. This can be a hybrid position in NJ, PA, or fully remote for qualified candidates.
Position Summary
The AVP will lead the modernization of Commercial Auto rating capabilities, overseeing the design and externalization of rating plans into a flexible engine that supports multiple systems. Acting as a bridge between actuarial, technology, and external partners, this role will help shape the long-term strategy for Commercial Auto pricing while ensuring alignment with enterprise goals.
Key Responsibilities
Guide the development and evolution of rating plans to ensure they remain modern, efficient, and compliant.
Enhance pricing structures with proprietary approaches tailored to business needs.
Oversee the implementation of rating updates, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Shape the full lifecycle of rating plan development, from concept through execution, by aligning priorities with stakeholders.
Partner with underwriting, actuarial, regulatory, and IT teams to ensure products and rating strategies support growth across market segments.
Utilize analytical tools to review performance, identify opportunities, and provide actionable insights.
Align initiatives with enterprise strategies, ensuring rating modernization supports broader business objectives.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of the Commercial Auto market and rating practices.
At least 5 years of experience in pricing, product development, or related areas.
Actuarial credentials (ACAS/FCAS) preferred, but not required.
Familiarity with analytical tools and programming languages.
Proven ability to manage projects, influence stakeholders, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
Excellent communication skills with a strategic mindset and strong business acumen.
