The Role

We are looking for a seasoned leader to spearhead supervisory, policy, and governance initiatives in the financial sector, focused on artificial intelligence (AI) risk management. This is a high-impact role that combines regulatory supervision, market oversight, and thought leadership in shaping AI adoption within finance. You will play a critical part in ensuring the safe, responsible, and innovative use of AI technologies across the financial ecosystem, while helping to set standards that influence both domestic and international practice.

What You Will Be Working On

  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a specialist team overseeing AI risk management for financial institutions.
  • Supervisory Frameworks: Design and implement frameworks and supervisory approaches for managing AI-related risks.
  • Policy & Governance: Drive the development of AI policy and governance standards that balance innovation with safety and resilience.
  • Cross-sector Coordination: Collaborate with other government agencies and industry stakeholders on AI-related initiatives with sector-wide implications.
  • International Engagement: Contribute to global standards-setting and represent Singapore in international discussions on AI risk in finance.
  • Technical Advisory: Provide expertise on AI models, algorithms, governance, and emerging technologies to colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Supervisory Reviews: Lead thematic and institution-specific reviews of AI model deployment in banks and other financial institutions.
  • Research & Foresight: Conduct research on emerging AI trends, risks, and safeguard measures relevant to financial stability.
  • Capacity Building: Develop training programs and knowledge-sharing platforms on AI risk, governance, and supervisory practices.
  • Project & Resource Management: Oversee workplans, deliverables, and team resources to ensure timely execution of strategic initiatives.

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong experience in AI or advanced analytics supervision, regulatory policy, or risk management
  • Proven leadership track record, including managing teams, mentoring talent, and handling complex cross-functional projects.
  • Deep understanding of AI/ML technologies, data science, and model deployment in real-world applications
  • Experience in policy development or governance in technology, AI ethics, or financial risk management.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytic, and problem-solving abilities to connect technical detail with broad regulatory objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage audiences ranging from AI engineers to senior policymakers.
  • Demonstrated success in stakeholder management across both industry and government settings.
  • Advanced degree(s) in Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, or other quantitative disciplines preferred.
