Our client is seeking an Assistant Underwriter on a 12-month fixed-term contract for their Digital Services team in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with underwriting teams, support brokers and clients via digital platforms, and gain exposure to a wide range of insurance processes.

The Role

As an Assistant Underwriter, you will provide efficient and effective service to brokers and clients through digital platforms. Key responsibilities include:

• Handling customer interactions accurately and within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
• Collaborating with internal teams such as Claims, Finance, Compliance, and Management Services on portfolio matters
• Supporting other team members to meet service and quality standards
• Producing management information, reports, and presentations for senior managers and underwriters
• Building and maintaining professional relationships with brokers and clients
• Supporting broker onboarding and training to encourage self-sufficiency on digital platforms
• Identifying opportunities to improve service and customer experience

Requirements

• Previous insurance experience
• Accurate, numerate, and detail-oriented
• Good working knowledge of MS Office, including spreadsheets
• Experience in accurate, high-volume data entry advantageous
