Our client, a prominent financial services firm, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Head of Cyber Security to lead and oversee cyber security operations across the Asia region. This key leadership role will focus on enhancing the client's risk posture, ensuring robust compliance across multiple Asian jurisdictions, and protecting business and customer interests through regional best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of Cyber Security Operations across Asia, ensuring strong regional defences, continuous monitoring, and prompt incident response in diverse regulatory environments.
- Lead, develop, and motivate a small team of cyber security professionals spanning key Asian locations, fostering a collaborative approach across different markets and cultures.
- Conduct rigorous security architectural reviews of new systems, technologies, and projects, ensuring they align with regional financial regulations and emerging threat landscapes.
- Oversee risk and compliance initiatives in Asia, collaborating with the client's regional Risk, Compliance, and Audit teams to satisfy local laws and global standards such as ISO 27001, MAS Technology Risk Management Guidelines, and jurisdiction-specific requirements.
- Serve as a regional point of contact for business and technology stakeholders, integrating security perspectives into decision-making and new business developments throughout Asia.
- Evaluate and strengthen the region's cyber risk profile by identifying gaps, implementing proactive solutions, and communicating risks effectively to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a relevant discipline.
- Track record in cyber security leadership within the Asia region, preferably in financial services.
- Deep knowledge of Asian financial sector regulations and established risk frameworks (e.g., MAS, HKMA, RBI, and ISO 27001).
- Demonstrated experience managing and building security operations functions, conducting technical assessments, and driving compliance across multiple Asian markets.
- Excellent communication, cross-cultural, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalents are preferred.
