Portfolio Analyst - Underwriting, London

An opportunity has arisen for a Portfolio Analyst to join a growing underwriting function within a Global Insurer. Supporting strategic decision-making and helping drive portfolio performance, this role sits within a dedicated portfolio management team and works closely with senior stakeholders across the business.

The Role

You'll support the alignment of underwriting activity with wider business objectives, providing high-quality analysis, insight and coordination. Key elements of the role include:

  • Producing meaningful MI and analytical outputs to support portfolio reviews
  • Using data to generate fresh insights and recommendations
  • Assisting with the delivery of strategic initiatives and change activity
  • Acting as a point of contact for internal stakeholders and representing the portfolio function where needed
  • Contributing to key meetings such as quarterly reviews and pricing/portfolio discussions
  • Helping coach junior colleagues and encouraging consistent ways of working across teams

About the Team

The portfolio function plays a central role in monitoring underwriting performance, guiding strategic delivery and ensuring alignment across core support areas such as actuarial, finance, governance, risk and compliance. The London team is well-established, collaborative and integral to the wider business.

  • Strong analytical capability and confidence working with data
  • Clear and confident communication skills
  • Collaborative mindset, with experience working effectively across teams
  • Strong Excel ability and familiarity with wider Microsoft tools
  • Comfortable working independently while contributing to a high-performing team
