A high-growth, privately owned FinTech business with a strong presence in the UK is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join its executive leadership team. The organisation generates approximately £30m in annual revenue, is backed by a minority PE investor, and is entering a phase of accelerated growth, balance sheet optimisation, and strategic expansion.

This is a hands-on CFO role with a clear mandate to deliver immediate financial and commercial impact, particularly through capital structure optimisation and value creation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Finance & Leadership

  • Act as a core member of the executive leadership team, contributing to overall business strategy and long-term value creation.
  • Partner closely with the CEO and Board on financial strategy, performance, and growth initiatives.
  • Provide rigorous financial insight to support commercial and strategic decision-making.

Capital Structure & Funding

  • Lead all aspects of capital markets activity, including debt structuring, refinancing, and lender relationships.
  • Deliver near-term ROI improvements through initiatives such as refinancing, balance sheet optimisation, or cost of capital reduction.
  • Oversee relationships with banks, credit providers, and funding partners across the UK and Europe.

M&A and Corporate Development

  • Lead and execute M&A activity across the UK and European markets, including acquisitions, integrations, disposals, and strategic investments.
  • Manage financial due diligence, valuation, structuring, and post-deal integration.
  • Support inorganic growth strategy in collaboration with senior stakeholders.

Investor & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary financial interface with the minority institutional investor.
  • Prepare board materials, financial reporting, and investor communications.
  • Support governance, reporting, and compliance requirements aligned with a PE-style environment.

Financial Operations & Controls

  • Oversee all core finance functions including FP&A, accounting, treasury, tax, and risk.
  • Ensure robust financial controls, reporting accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Build and develop a high-performing finance team aligned to growth objectives.

Candidate Profile

Experience & Background

  • Proven CFO or senior finance leader experience within lending, credit, capital markets, or financial services.
  • Deep expertise in debt markets, structured finance, and credit-based business models.
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering immediate financial impact (e.g. refinancing, capital optimisation).
  • Significant UK and European M&A experience, including end-to-end transaction leadership.
  • Experience working with private equity or institutional minority investors.
  • Experience operating within an SME, ideally within non-bank B2B lending
