Actuarial Director - Pensions (DB)
Location: Glasgow, Edinburgh or Manchester

An established and growing consultancy is looking to appoint an Actuarial Director to join its pensions team in Scotland or Manchester. This is a senior leadership role suited to an experienced Scheme Actuary who enjoys combining high-quality client work with people leadership and business development.

The role

You will take overall responsibility for a portfolio of DB pension scheme clients, acting as a trusted adviser and overseeing delivery across a broad range of actuarial services. Alongside client work, you will play a key role in shaping strategy, developing new business and supporting the growth of the team.

There is genuine scope here to influence how the practice develops, with clear recognition for contribution and the opportunity for further progression.

Key responsibilities

• Strategic oversight of client relationships, including delivery, advice and fee agreements

• Acting as Scheme Actuary and senior adviser to a range of DB pension schemes

• Supporting and driving business development activity and growth plans

• Leading, mentoring and developing actuarial staff, including involvement in recruitment

• Contributing to wider practice and service development initiatives

About you

• FIA with strong experience in the UK DB pensions market

• Ideally holder of a Scheme Actuary Practising Certificate

• Comfortable operating at senior client and trustee level

• Proven people management experience

• Commercially aware, with a good understanding of the wider pensions landscape
