York, London, Bristol (hybrid working, c. 50% office)18 month fixed term contract Competitive salary + bonus + strong benefits We’re working on a really interesting opportunity within a large Life &amp; Pensions business, sitting as part of a major transformation programme. <h2>This isn’t your typical reporting or pricing role. It’s much more focused on understanding how products work at a detailed level and translating that into clear, structured calculation logic for new systems.</h2><h2>The role</h2>You’ll be working closely with actuarial, product and technical teams to break down complex legacy products and ensure they’re accurately reflected in a new platform.Day to day, that looks like:<ul><li>Translating product rules into detailed calculation specifications</li><li>Building and documenting logic using Excel</li><li>Interpreting legacy product features, including guarantees and charging structures</li><li>Collaborating with stakeholders across actuarial, IT and change teams</li><li>Supporting the delivery of a large-scale transformation programme</li></ul> What they’re looking for This would suit someone with a strong actuarial foundation who enjoys getting into the detail.<ul><li>Nearly or newly qualified actuary (or strong part-qualified and Given up exams)</li><li>Experience in Life insurance or Pensions</li><li>Comfortable working through complex product mechanics</li><li>Strong Excel skills and attention to detail</li><li>Able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders</li></ul>Any exposure to with-profits, protection or legacy products would be a bonus, but not essential.<h2>Why it’s worth a look</h2><ul><li>Great opportunity to build a deep understanding of how products work end-to-end</li><li>Exposure to a high-profile transformation programme</li><li>A slightly different angle compared to traditional actuarial roles</li><li>Strong benefits package including generous pension and bonus</li></ul><h2>Interested?</h2>If you’re open to something a bit different or just want to hear more, drop me a message and I can talk you through it properly.
