Director, Programs Pricing Actuary
Location: Remote (East Coast)
A global reinsurance broker is looking to hire a Director-level Pricing Actuary to support its growing programs business. The firm partners with insurers, MGAs, and program administrators, providing reinsurance placement, portfolio analytics, and strategic advisory services.
This role sits within a lean, high-impact actuarial team, working closely with broking and underwriting to assess program opportunities, support MGA growth, and deliver pricing and portfolio insights across a range of specialty and commercial lines.
You’ll be involved in deal flow, reinsurance strategy, and delegated authority business, with strong exposure to senior stakeholders and clients.
Key Responsibilities
• Partner with brokers to evaluate deals and structure pricing solutions for MGA, carrier, and reinsurance clients
• Price portfolios across casualty, professional lines, property, and specialty business with a high degree of autonomy
• Communicate pricing and portfolio insights to brokers, clients, underwriters, reinsurers, and internal stakeholders
• Build and enhance Power BI dashboards to support renewal submissions and portfolio tracking
• Develop, maintain, and refine pricing models for global programs business
• Work independently in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment
Requirements
• ACAS required, FCAS preferred
• 8+ years of P&C actuarial experience
• Strong background in pricing, ideally within MGA, carrier, or reinsurance environments
• Experience working with or supporting delegated authority / programs business
• Solid understanding of actuarial pricing techniques and portfolio management
• Strong communication skills and commercial mindset
• Exposure to workers’ compensation and/or financial lines is a plus
• Technical skills (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Power BI) are beneficial but not essential
