My client is looking for a Qualified (or nearly qualified) Actuary to join their Actuarial team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in modernising actuarial processes, moving from traditional spreadsheet-based approaches to scalable, automated solutions using tools such as Python and R.
You’ll work across a variety of actuarial disciplines, contributing to both business-as-usual cycles and innovative, project-based work, while collaborating with senior stakeholders across the organisation.
The Role -
- Support the development of Argenta’s actuarial analytics strategy
- Lead and contribute to analytical projects, turning complex data into clear business insights
- Collaborate with Pricing, Reserving, Capital, Risk, and Exposure Management teams
- Drive improvements in actuarial data, systems, and workflows
- Support the development and optimisation of the central reserving database
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
- Mentor and support junior actuarial analysts
- Ensure strong governance, documentation, and validation of models and tools
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends
- Build strong relationships across actuarial teams and the wider business
The Candidate -
- Newly qualified actuary or close to qualification
- Strong academic background
- Experience in General Insurance and/or the London Market
- Advanced Excel and strong report writing skills
- Experience with Python (or similar programming language)
- Knowledge of Power BI or Qlik (desirable)
- Familiarity with ResQ, Hx, or Igloo (desirable)
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
