Senior Actuarial Consultant – Pensions
Are you a qualified pensions actuary who enjoys client-facing work and being trusted to run things day to day? This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, well-established actuarial consulting team working with a broad range of UK and international pension schemes.
The role can be based out of several UK offices including Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Epsom, Farnborough, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester or St Albans, with hybrid working available.
The role
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality actuarial advice to a portfolio of trustee and corporate clients, while also supporting more complex and high-profile schemes.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Advising trustees and sponsors on scheme funding, valuations and negotiations
- Leading or project-managing larger pieces of work such as valuations, factor reviews and risk settlement exercises
- Advising on wider strategic pensions issues including integrated risk management, member options and PPF levy management
- Owning day-to-day client relationships for a number of schemes
- Supporting senior colleagues on larger or more complex clients
- Reviewing technical work and maintaining high quality standards
- Contributing to business development, networking and thought leadership where appropriate
- Supporting and developing junior members of the team
What we’re looking for
- Qualified actuary with strong post-qualification experience
- Solid background in UK pensions, ideally within a consulting environment
- Experience leading client relationships or acting as a key client contact
- Comfortable advising both at a technical and strategic level
- Confident communicator with trustees, pensions managers and senior stakeholders
- Motivated, collaborative and keen to help develop others
What’s on offer
- Competitive salary and bonus
- Comprehensive benefits package
- 25 days holiday plus the option to buy more
- Flexible and hybrid working
- Strong support for career development and progression
- A genuinely collaborative and inclusive working culture
If you’re an experienced pensions actuary looking for a role with real client exposure, flexibility and long-term development, this could be well worth a conversation.
