We’re working with a well-regarded consultancy looking to bring in a senior hire into their Insurance & Financial Services team. This is a genuinely exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of winning work, shaping client strategy and delivering high-impact projects across investment and ALM.

This team has built a strong reputation across insurance investment, capital and risk, and longevity, and they’ve got clear growth ambitions both in the UK and internationally. You’d be joining at a senior level with real scope to influence direction and help drive that growth.

What you’ll be doing

This is a broad, senior role with a strong commercial edge. You’ll be:

  • Leading and delivering client work across insurance investment and ALM
  • Winning new business and developing existing client relationships
  • Shaping propositions and bringing new ideas to market
  • Working across areas such as:
    • Investment strategy
    • Illiquid assets
    • Credit and market risk modelling
    • Internal model validation
    • Matching adjustment optimisation
    • Liquidity and sustainable investment
  • Supporting and mentoring more junior team members

It’s a varied role, so it suits someone who enjoys working across different topics and balancing delivery with business development.

What they’re looking for

They’re keen to speak to people who are already operating at a senior level in this space and can bring both technical depth and commercial impact.

You’ll likely have:

  • Strong expertise in insurance investment and ALM within the UK market
  • A track record of winning work and generating revenue
  • A good understanding of the key challenges facing insurers today, across life and ideally general insurance
  • Experience leading large, complex projects
  • The ability to build and maintain senior client relationships
  • A collaborative leadership style with experience mentoring others
  • A clear and confident communication style, especially with non-technical stakeholders

On the technical side, you’ll also need:

  • A relevant actuarial or similar professional qualification
  • Strong knowledge of Solvency UK, and ideally Solvency II or other regimes (e.g. Bermuda)
  • Awareness of current and emerging trends in insurance investment and ALM

A few extra points

  • They’re open to both full-time and part-time candidates
  • You’ll need to be comfortable working across multiple projects and priorities
  • There will be some travel depending on client needs
