Quick Fire: Ruth Foster

by Ruth Foster

Chief Operating Officer Ruth Foster originally joined us as a recruiter in 2010. She now sits on the Group Board supporting the global business and has oversight of the HR, learning and development, talent acquisition, operations and marketing functions. Ruth tells us more about her career to date with Eames Group.

What drives you?

“The opportunity to learn, the opportunity to progress, and the opportunity to see things done differently,” says Ruth.

Describe the culture of Eames in three words.

“Driven, fun, energetic.”

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

“The most rewarding part of my job is the fact that no one day is the same as another. Every day is different and I cannot get bored. That keeps me engaged.”

What Eames value resonates the most with you, and why?

“Ingrained drive because I like to push myself. I have to push myself. It’s who I am and it’s who we are as a business.”

What does being an opportunity maker mean to you?

“Creating your own future. Master of your own destiny. Don’t blame others for what you don’t have. Go and make it happen yourself.”

What are you most excited about for the future?

“I’m excited to see what it’s like to work in a business that’s double the size of the one we’re in now. I haven’t worked in a business of that size and I’m interested to see what challenges, what opportunities, what differences that has to what I’ve worked in previously.”
