A leading financial institution is seeking a seasoned technology risk professional to lead its Technology Controls Assurance function. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving rigorous, independent assurance over technology controls across the organisation.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage a team of controls assurance professionals, setting priorities, developing talent, and maintaining quality and consistency across all assurance activities
- Design and execute technology controls testing programmes, covering areas such as access management, change management, IT operations, cybersecurity controls, and resilience
- Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of technology controls, producing clear, evidence-based findings and recommendations for senior stakeholders
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of controls assessments - from scoping and fieldwork through to reporting and issue management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory interactions related to technology controls, coordinating responses to supervisory requests, examinations, and audits
- Engage with technology, risk, and business stakeholders to communicate assurance outcomes and drive remediation of identified control gaps
- Monitor the evolving regulatory landscape and ensure the controls assurance programme remains aligned with current expectations and industry standards
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of assurance methodologies, frameworks, and tooling
What You'll Bring
- Substantial experience in technology risk, IT audit, or controls assurance within a regulated financial services environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced, complex organisation
- Strong technical grounding across core IT control domains, with the ability to assess both design adequacy and operational effectiveness
- Proven experience managing regulatory interactions, including examinations, supervisory queries, and audit liaison
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings clearly to senior and executive audiences
- A structured, methodical approach to assurance work, with high standards for documentation and evidence quality
