A leading financial institution is seeking a seasoned technology risk professional to lead its Technology Controls Assurance function. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving rigorous, independent assurance over technology controls across the organisation.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage a team of controls assurance professionals, setting priorities, developing talent, and maintaining quality and consistency across all assurance activities
  • Design and execute technology controls testing programmes, covering areas such as access management, change management, IT operations, cybersecurity controls, and resilience
  • Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of technology controls, producing clear, evidence-based findings and recommendations for senior stakeholders
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of controls assessments - from scoping and fieldwork through to reporting and issue management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory interactions related to technology controls, coordinating responses to supervisory requests, examinations, and audits
  • Engage with technology, risk, and business stakeholders to communicate assurance outcomes and drive remediation of identified control gaps
  • Monitor the evolving regulatory landscape and ensure the controls assurance programme remains aligned with current expectations and industry standards
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of assurance methodologies, frameworks, and tooling

What You'll Bring

  • Substantial experience in technology risk, IT audit, or controls assurance within a regulated financial services environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced, complex organisation
  • Strong technical grounding across core IT control domains, with the ability to assess both design adequacy and operational effectiveness
  • Proven experience managing regulatory interactions, including examinations, supervisory queries, and audit liaison
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings clearly to senior and executive audiences
  • A structured, methodical approach to assurance work, with high standards for documentation and evidence quality
