Software Engineering Manager

We are partnered with a financial institution to look for a dynamic Engineering Manager to drive technical excellence and lead high-performing development teams. This strategic role focuses on leading architectural direction, overseeing robust engineering execution, and modernizing large-scale digital banking platforms. This role is based in KL, Malaysia

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor engineering teams to deliver robust, scalable digital banking solutions
• Oversee the end-to-end architecture and design of high-throughput transaction processing systems
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into maintainable technology solutions
• Drive engineering excellence by enforcing best practices in microservices design, API integration, and performance optimization
• Foster an innovative engineering culture by championing modern DevOps practices, automation, and continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines
• Ensure all technical solutions align with rigorous financial security, governance, and long-term organizational tech goals

Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in IT, with a strong background in financial technology or retail banking
• Extensive experience in Java microservices architecture, cloud services, and secure API design
• Strong knowledge of high-volume transaction processing systems and international financial messaging standards
• Familiarity with financial data security regulations, compliance frameworks, and digital interface security
• Proven track record of managing engineering teams and executing large-scale software modernization
• Excellent capability in drafting comprehensive solution architecture documentation and technical specification
