Senior Software Engineer

We are partnered with a financial services firm looking to hire an experienced Senior Software Engineer.

In this role, you will lead the architecture, engineering, and delivery of core enterprise applications supporting complex asset operations, valuation, and portfolio management workflows. You will act as a technical authority, collaborating closely with business stakeholders and mentoring cross-functional delivery teams across cloud, data, and core software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive the end-to-end design, implementation, and long-term platform evolution for mission-critical investment and valuation applications.
• Spearhead best practices in scalable architecture, API integration, code quality, observability, and automated deployment pipelines.
• Bridge the gap between engineering teams and investment business units, framing technical solutions directly against commercial and operational problems.
• Champion secure-by-design standards and robust testing to guarantee high availability, regulatory compliance, and system resilience.

Requirements:

• At least 8 years of software engineering experience, ideally within financial services, investment banking, or asset/fund management.
• Strong technical background in either Python or Java, paired with solid relational database (SQL) and API design expertise.
• Proven hands-on delivery with AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, Lambda, ECS/Fargate, S3).
• Exposure to modern developer tooling (such as AI coding assistants) and interest in microservices/serverless design patterns.
• Excellent communication skills with experience guiding engineers, conducting peer reviews, and influencing architecture decisions.
• Experience with Airflow/orchestration, Kafka/streaming, Snowflake, or frontend frameworks (React/TypeScript)
