A leading specialty insurance organisation is seeking a FIA Actuary to join its capital modelling team. This role offers broad exposure to internal modelling, regulatory capital, risk management and strategic decision-making within a complex insurance environment.
You will support the maintenance and development of the organisation's capital modelling capabilities and take day-to-day ownership of key model components. Your remit will include regulatory capital calculations and submissions, model validation and governance, liquidity testing, management capital analysis, rating agency requirements and collateral calculations.
Working closely with senior actuaries and colleagues across risk, finance and underwriting, you will analyse and challenge model outputs, assumptions and methodologies. You will also produce clear, high-quality reporting for senior stakeholders, committees, boards and regulators.
The position provides opportunities to contribute to business planning, capital management, reinsurance, risk appetite and portfolio optimisation. You will help improve modelling processes, controls and reporting while ensuring appropriate governance standards are maintained.
The successful candidate will be a qualified actuary, or hold an equivalent recognised qualification, with insurance-sector experienced in capital modelling or risk. You will bring strong numerical and analytical skills, a sound understanding of actuarial and capital modelling techniques, and the ability to interpret complex results and identify key drivers.
Advanced modelling and data-analysis skills are required. Experience with specialist capital modelling software would be advantageous. You should also be an effective communicator who can explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, manage competing priorities and work independently.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded actuary to develop broad capital expertise and influence important business and risk decisions within a collaborative environment.
