SVP, Data & AI Architecture

We are currently partnering with a leading global financial institution to appoint a high-calibre SVP, Data & AI Architecture. This is a pivotal leadership appointment designed for a technologist who bridges the gap between complex engineering and strategic business delivery.

The successful candidate will lead the architectural evolution of our client’s data ecosystems, driving the integration of Advanced Analytics and AI frameworks into core scalable products. This is not a "hands-off" oversight role; we are looking for a leader who has "walked the path" from deep-level engineering to executive-level influence.

Key Responsibilities

• Architectural Strategy: Define and execute a robust roadmap for Data and AI architecture that supports high-frequency, large-scale operations.
• Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor a high-performing team of Data Architects and Engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous innovation.
• Project Delivery: Take full accountability for the end-to-end delivery of complex data projects, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and aligned with long-term business goals.
• Innovation & AI Integration: Oversee the implementation of Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence models into production environments, ensuring data integrity and ethical governance.
• Stakeholder Management: Translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for non-technical executive stakeholders.

Your Profile

• Technical Foundations: A proven track record in a hands-on technical capacity (e.g., Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or Systems Architecture) before transitioning into leadership.
• Domain Expertise: Deep knowledge of modern data stacks, cloud architecture (AWS/Azure/GCP), and the operationalisation of AI/ML models.
• Leadership Depth: Significant experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams and navigating the complexities of large-scale project lifecycles.
• Pragmatic Approach: While banking experience is not a prerequisite, you must demonstrate the ability to work within highly regulated environments where security and data privacy are paramount.
• Communication: Exceptional command of the English language with the ability to influence at all levels of an organisation.
