We sat down with Vincent Yao, associate director in our compliance team and asked him his thoughts on working for Eames. Here's what he had to say.
What motivates you in your career?
I believe we all seek different challenges at different stages of our career. As a father of 2 and a new manager, motivating oneself is largely about selfactualisation. I find mentoring and coaching younger colleagues both within and outside my team energising.
What's the proudest moment of your career?
My proudest moment would probably be winning the MVP award in 2013. I still use the Hermes tie I was given as a gift for most of my client meetings. I must say it has brought me good fortune.
What qualities do you look for in a recruitment consultant joining your team?
Self-motivation and determination. Other qualities that would be important are ethics and professionalism as we work in a multicultural and mature environment.
You are best known for...?
Not sure about now, but I used to be known for having a horrible shirt tie combination!
I love working at Eames because...?
The mature environment, outside work, the same bunch of colleagues are such fun to hang out with. It’s great to have a multicultural o ce in Singapore.
