The Ardonagh Group has named Neil Higgins as head of facultative reinsurance at its newly launched reinsurance broker Inver Re.

In his new role, Higgins will oversee the creation of a client centric, strategic, flexible and market-neutral approach to facultative reinsurance solutions.

He joins the firm from Miller, where he has held various roles since 2010, most recently as head of property.

During his tenure at Miller, Higgins played an instrumental role in the growth of the business from a team of 12 to a property and casualty unit of more than 100. Before this, he held senior positions at PWS and Newman Martin and Buchan.

James Masterton, CEO of Ardonagh Specialty said: “Neil is a proven leader who understands what it takes to build a reinsurance business that can deliver real value for clients. We are delighted to be welcoming him to Inver Re and the wider Ardonagh Group at this pivotal moment in our history.”

Neil added: “Clients face increasingly complex challenges and by harnessing the strong foundations and reach of The Ardonagh Group, Inver Re is perfectly poised to structure exceptional solutions to address these needs.

I’m truly excited to be building a facultative division with a singular focus on service excellence to ensure clients goals are met every time.”
