A year in review: risk, compliance and audit in Singapore

by Priya Gupta

What are candidates’ current motivations and mindset in the financial services sector in Singapore? Our corporate functions team recently surveyed more than 200 experienced risk, compliance and audit professionals to get their views on salaries, motivations to move and working arrangements in financial services.

Employers driving a return to the office

21% of organisations employing our respondents expect their employees to be in the office five days a week – and none of them provide fully remote options. There’s no doubt working from the office helps to create a sense of belonging, team spirit and collaboration. But with flexible working, selected by 37%, the most popular first choice for respondents when looking for a new role, are financial services organisations doing enough to understand why flexibility matters to their people?

Financial services professionals feeling underpaid?

With many jobs now offering lower pay but the same level of responsibility, 29% of respondents feel they’re underpaid compared to market rates. 38% feel they are paid fairly. How important a motivator is salary when it comes to moving? And how are financial services organisations retaining talent?
