In Good Company: change team launches networking series with an event for women in insurance change and transformation

by Laura Bellamy

On Thursday, 3rd July, our change and transformation team hosted In Good Company: Women who Lead Insurance Change and Transformation, a social networking evening at The Otherist in London.

Amelia Mercer, Winta Zegay, Harrison Bastianon and Laura Bellamy were joined by almost 50 female change and transformation leaders from some of our key clients across the insurance industry.

In a relaxed and informal atmosphere, we discussed some of the challenges facing organisations and what it takes to be a successful woman in insurance. In particular, our team were delighted to be able to strengthen their relationships with our network and see our attendees reconnecting with former colleagues.

“It was great to catch up with the women in my network and hear of the journey they all took to get where they are today,” said Harrison, principal consultant within our change team. So many inspiring stories and it was great to build new relationships.”

This event marked the launch of In Good Company, a series of events bringing insurance change management professionals together to build community, collaborate and share market insights. Laura, senior manager for Eames Consulting’s change team, explained: Our ‘In Good Company’ series will give insurance industry professionals the opportunity to discuss specific topics and challenges within their roles. The series will be made up of large events, smaller meetups, breakfast roundtables and other networking opportunities, and we’re excited to announce details of the next event soon.”

There’s so much more work to do as we strive to build community within the insurance industry, while strengthening our existing relationships. The positivity in the room truly showed the value of these events in creating a sense of community. Amelia, principal consultant, said: “We’re so grateful to our attendees for helping to make our first event such a success. The energy in the room highlighted just how powerful this community can be when brought together and it was a great pleasure to connect and reconnect with so many of you.”

Winta, also a principal consultant, added: "There was a real sense of momentum in the room – thoughtful conversations, shared experiences, and a clear drive to create meaningful change in our industry."

The change team were delighted to be joined by Estelle James, managing partner for ECMS, Eames Group’s advisory-led managed solutions business. She said: “These women are directly impacting change and transformation in the insurance industry and events like this are so important in highlighting their amazing contribution. I’m excited to see where the In Good Company series will take us in the future.”

A huge thank you to all our attendees for helping to make this such a special evening.
