Job Description

The role is responsible for managing complex and multiple stakeholder relationships with key SBU and function senior managers across locations in the UK and abroad. As the Assistant BC manager you will be required to deputise for the Business Continuity manager to deliver the deployment of BC capabilities across the UK and globally when required.

The role is also intended to support the management process and oversight of the Business Continuity (BC) & Crisis Management (CM) capabilities, with an initial focus on Europe business needs. 

Dimensions

The business is diverse in operating in a number of different continents and UK locations, and employing approximately 2500 people.

The core subsidiaries of the business are regulated entities and it is a FTSE 250 listed company. Therefore there is an implicit need for high standards to be maintained, together with a continuous optimisation to ensure the company operates both effectively and efficiently globally to ensure that the business remains in the forefront of the global insurance world.

Key result areas

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the businesses BC & CM capabilities both in the UK & abroad
  • Support the exercising and maintenance activities of the businesses BC capabilities both in the UK & abroad
  • Support the exercising and maintenance activities of the businesses CM capabilities both in the UK & abroad
  • Support the delivery of global BC programme reporting
  • Deputise for the  Business Continuity manager both during BAU and crisis situations
  • Support the implementation & maintenance of BC toolsets, specifically SunGard Assurance, Cobalt & xMatters.
  • Support the delivery of wider Property Services activities and initiatives on an “as needed” basis
