We are looking for a motivated BI Data Analyst to come in and join us. This role will involve working in the Reporting Team within Business Information & Analytics to deliver on data, reporting, and analytical needs. The role will develop and enhance current reporting solutions to ensure the team has the highest level of quality data available for reports.
Key Responsibilities
- A senior member of the Reporting team and subject matter expert for colleagues with less experience, in particular with Power BI and DAX
- Help lead the team in data-driven initiatives
- Collaborating with the team to take a new perspective on existing solutions, embracing the new features and tools released by Microsoft
- Ensure data modeling best practice is followed
- Refining our overall approach to Power BI/Platform, identifying problems and driving solutions
- Maintenance and enhancement of existing data models and data flows
Key skills/experience
- A data enthusiast with advanced skills and proven experience with tools and techniques such as SSAS, Tabular models, DAX and PowerBI
- Advanced SQL and excellent working knowledge of SSRS,SSMS Advanced Excel
- Effectively uses and manipulates data from databases and I.T. systems Understanding of data management principles
- Analytical approach to problem-solving
- The successful candidate will have sensible judgment, meticulous attention to detail and will be highly service focussed
- Effectively interacts and communicates with colleagues to understand requirements and the impacts they will make, both in the back and front end of the Power bI service.
- The ability to work in a small team, coach peers, and add value The ability to prioritize stakeholder needs
- Requires strong and relevant work experience gained in a similar role
