A well established and highly reputable financial services institution is currently seeking a chief financial officer to join their Singapore office. Reporting to the chief executive officer, this role takes full ownership of the finance function, as well as operations, IT and company secretarial matters. A hands-on management style is required.
Key responsibilities:
- Contribute as a strong member of the senior management team
- Develop a strong finance function in order to support the CEO, the board and shareholders
- Manage the finance function with strong controls, efficient processes and clear policies
- Ensure the company meets all finance regulatory obligations including statutory reporting and capital compliance
- Produce statutory, management and ad-hoc finance reports promptly and accurately
- Ensure all tax and GST returns are completed promptly and accurately
- Oversee and ensure all external and internal audit reviews are conducted smoothly
- Manage the commission payments process
- Management of the operations team
- Manage the Singapore office's outsourcing arrangements
- Recruit, train and develop staff
To be considered for this position, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Recognised accounting qualification
- At least 10 years’ post qualification experience in finance
- Hands on management style and strong attention to detail
- Local GAAP experience and a sound understanding of ACRA
- Prior experience within a Singapore MAS licenced financial entity
- Strong analytical skills
- Good understanding of the business and its drivers of value
- Direct management of external & internal auditors
- Project management, IT and operations experience will be a plus
