We are currently recruiting for a product controller to join the credit derivatives role for a large hedge fund based in London. This position has been created by an expansion of the desk is an ideal role for a product controller looking to make their first move into the buy side.
Responsibilities:
- Analyse and Review Fund profit and loss accounts for asset classes across the Credit desk, in order to assist reporting performance to Asset Managers
- Calculate NAV’s of funds on a daily, weekly and monthly basis including checking accrued income and expenses.
- Prepare reporting and present valuation exceptions, company news and fund updates to internal and external pricing committee
- Ensure the quality and effectiveness of the pricing governance and controls are maintained through identification and mitigation of pricing risks and the communication/documentation of any enhancements to the framework
- Review foreign exchange exposures and report to the Asset Managers, highlighting any currency hedging requirements
- Provide ad-hoc reports to the Asset Managers regarding performance and historic trading analysis
- Review existing systems / processes / procedures and MIS to identify areas of possible enhancements
- Represent the team on wider projects such as trading system enhancements and regulatory change integration
Requirements:
- Product Control or Valuation Control Experience gained from a large bank or Investment Manager
- Strong mathematical academic background – minimum 2:1 degree is essential and MSc or CFA Qualified
- Qualified Accountant (Ideally)
- Extensive knowledge of Derivatives – Credit is preferred but all asset classes will be considered
- Strong control mind set
- Proven evidence of pro-actively identifying and improving processes in your current role
