A global investment bank is currently searching for a Deputy CFO to join their Operations division in London.
This role has been created through an internal move and is an ideal opportunity for a commercial finance Director level candidate with strong change and transformation experience to take ownership of a high profile area for the bank.
Responsibilities
- Define, approve and manage financial targets for all Operations functions in line with the annual planning process, ensuring that all functions deliver within the plan.
- Deputise for the Operations CFO in facing off to the Head of Operations and Executive Committee and to the wider Finance community.
- Delivery of the change transformation strategy from a financial management perspective, ensuring that the costs and benefits are robustly tracked, approved and reported.
- Provide support with respect to input to the annual business Strategy process working closely with the Operations CFO.
- Improve the relevance of Operations recharges to support business decision-making, delivery of the Service Company requirements and the understanding of cost drivers, increasing transparency and the credibility of financial MI.
- Delivery of the Service Company requirements and the understanding of cost drivers, increasing services are delivered cost effectively whilst still managing risk appropriately.
- Creating capacity to invest in refreshing the technology infrastructure supporting Operations whilst managing cost to meet group targets will be challenging; requiring creative solutions to the funding of investment, including driving lower unit costs, and improved governance of expenditure, business cases and post-implementation reviews.
Requirements
- Extensive experience within Banking in a Commercial Finance role.
- Experience of supporting an Operations function – essential.
- Proven experience within change with a track record of delivering organisational change in a large organisation.
- Exceptional Interpersonal skills with experience of dealing with c-suite stakeholders.
- Strong ability to deliver cost efficiencies to the bottom line, through increased productivity and leveraging scale.
- Strong academic background to degree level.
This role will involve regular interaction with key stakeholders across the business including the COO and CFO of Technology and is therefore essential you have very strong communication skills. The role offers a clear career path to the Operations CFO Position in the future.
