12-month FTC focused on financial modeling and valuations-related project work for a private markets-focused fund manager, suited to someone with proven credentials in the above who can start by June/July time at the latest.
The Fund is looking for a modeling associate to help develop and improve the Valuations team templates, tools, and documentation, proposing and implementing solutions to address valuation process inefficiencies as part of a major change management process that's currently underway.
Responsibilities will include:
Review existing valuation models (i.e., templates, tools, documentation) and data-related processes
Identify opportunities to leverage data sources, platforms, and technologies available in the organisation as well as external solutions
Propose improvements to the valuation models and processes that are scalable in order to accommodate the growing asset base and increased internal valuations
Manage the implementation of new / updated valuation model assets and processes
Create model and process documentation, and a process for maintaining and updating documentation
Prepare presentations to senior stakeholders on improvements made, including the expected impact of improvements
Embed modeling knowledge and best practice (in particular, version control, model risk management, modeling checks and controls) within the Valuations team
On completion of the project, ensure comprehensive transfer of models and processes to the Valuations team
Your background:
Demonstrable track record of financial modeling expertise and model risk management, roughly 7-8 years plus experience or thereabouts
Highly numerate (accountancy qualification is considered advantageous but not a necessity)
Experience within a Financial Services company or professional services firm aligned to FS clients preferred
Experience with data visualisation
Basic knowledge of industry-standard valuation practices, and knowledge of key financial terms
Systems: Excel, VBA, Python, Power BI / Tableau
