A global Insurance company is currently looking to appoint a business fronting FP&A Manager (sole contributor) to own and deliver all FP&A activities for their largest and continuously expanding business unit. Reporting to and working closely alongside the Head of Finance, the FP&A Manager will take responsibility for pulling together the monthly and quarterly results, making sense of the numbers, challenging the actuaries, and then presenting the figures with explanations to the management team. The FP&A Manager will also lead the annual financial planning process which gives very high visibility not just across the business unit, but also to the Divisional ExCo team (CEO, CFO, Chief Actuary).
The position requires a Qualified Accountant with at least 2 years of PQE in a FP&A / finance business partnering capacity. Financial Services experience is a must but it does not have to be insurance specific, and this can be learnt.
Full responsibilities are listed below:
- Produce and present the regional annual financial plan
- Production and present regional MI (both financial and non-financial)
- Analyse the variances between the plan and actual results and overall financial position of the region
- Expenses budgeting and cost controlling
- Regional forecasting, results control and timely reporting
- Business partnering with the regional Management team and providing them with ad-hoc analysis as and when requested
- Interpreting and challenging the underwriting results and operating profit results
The successful applicant will possess the following:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) ESSENTIAL
- Adequate post qualification experience within FP&A - at least 2 years
- Financial Services experience is essential, insurance a plus
- Ability and confidence to present to senior management
- Good levels of energy and drive
- Eagerness to take ownership of workload and seek further responsibility
