A technology focused venture capital fund is looking to appoint a fund finance associate into a newly created position, reporting directly to the finance director.
With a new fundraise on the way, the business is looking to bolster its team with a new addition to support an exciting growth phase. With just over twenty people in the company, it's a small but closely knit group which includes a heavily intertwined finance and investment team.
The fund accountant will enjoy a role with tremendous breadth and variety in the day to day, with plenty of focus on the value add. Key areas of coverage will include:
- Key point of contact to the outsourced fund administrators and responsible for overseeing the work they produce and managing the relationship
- Supporting the portfolio valuations process, which sits solely with the finance team
- Cash management, budgeting and forecasting
- Supporting the seasonal audit process
- Helping with the implementation and improvement of finance systems
- Portfolio analytics - regular interaction with portfolio company CFO's and helping with value creation
- Investor relations
- Ad hoc projects
Organisational culture is vibrant and friendly and they're big believers in flexible working. Comp is likely to be around the £55,000-65,000 mark with a discretionary bonus and wider benefits package.
Our ideal candidate will look something like this:
- Qualified accountant (or equivalent) ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- Prior fund accounting experience, ideally from a competitor fund or a third party administrator. However, if you're an auditor that has worked with PE/VC structures then you'll also be taken into consideration.
