My client, a leading Lloyd's insurer, is looking for a Head of Data Engineering to lead a team to deliver new innovative, cloud-based data solutions. This business leverages its cutting-edge analytics and research capabilities to offer a conclusive range of insurance products to a varied portfolio of clients. They pride themselves on being bless-in-class pertaining to data.
The successful Head of Data Engineering will:
- Take responsibility for the data platform and associated tools and technologies
- Work closely with other Data Heads of to deliver effective data structures in line with the data roadmap
- 'Horizon-scan' for new opportunities, use cases and technologies to enhance the data platform for all data users
- Lead a team of Data Engineers, implementing DevOps processes to uphold standards and best practises
The successful Head of Data Engineering will likely have:
- Extensive Azure experience (ADF, ADLS Gen2, DataBricks, PBI, etc)
- A track record in insurance (preferable) or financial services
- An understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps
- Knowledge of event streaming data (desirable)
