A global and trusted name in financial services has an attractive new opening for an IT Management Accountant to sit within their Enterprise IT Finance team. This position reports to the Head of Finance, and will be based in Central London.
As the IT Management Accountant, you will take responsibility for the maintenance and improvement of their cost transparency model implementation. This solution drives customer billings and provides business insight for customers, service line owners, Finance Business Partners and key stakeholders within the Enterprise IT Leadership Team. You will also need to have a sound understanding and knowledge of Technology Business Management (TBM) methods and practices.
Key duties as follows:
- Maintain, administer, and improve the installation of the cost transparency model
- Develop in-depth understanding of the cost transparency model and its configuration. Work closely with technology and business teams (and finance) to identify and facilitate ongoing maintenance and improvement
- Support ad-hoc operational processes including the preparation of presentation materials for Finance Business Partners on service line costs and consumption
- Produce quality review of consumption data for the Operational Intelligence team
- Identify and report on cost implications of proposed changes to the model or consumption methodologies
- Drive discussions with data owners and business stakeholders, in particular Service Line owners, on technology allocations and adjustments and execute changes within the data model
- Provide reports, data and technical support to Finance users
- Gain an understanding of and gather financial and operational data sets from across the organisation for improvement of the model / customer insights
- Keep up to date with developments within Technology Business Management (TBM), and provide specialist knowledge to Enterprise IT on TBM and industry methods and standards. Act as the TBM Accounting expert within Enterprise IT.
- Support Finance Business Partners, cost centre managers and service line owners with expenses and budget management
- Provide support and data to Finance and IT in support of TCO (total cost ownership) and benchmarking initiatives
- Contribute to the ongoing development of financial management systems and processes
- Support the Head of Finance in transforming Finance processes
The successful applicant will match the following description:
- Be a Qualified Accountant or experienced TBM Accountant/Analyst
- Experience of working in IT financial management / TBM Accounting/Analysis (ESSENTIAL)
- Sound knowledge and understanding of TBM standards and related activities and functions
- An established level of expertise in TBM gained either through practical experience or training
- Awareness of Financial Services and Technology industries and marketplaces
- Aptitude for systems, process design and build
- Strong financial analysis skills
- Ability to explain and effectively communicate financial information to non-finance colleagues
- Ability to identify the key issues when analysing complex data
- Ability to influence colleagues and build strong working relationships across other functions
- Good knowledge of financial management systems and processes
