Natural Research Lead - Up to £95,000 + Bonus
A well known Lloyd's Syndicate is building out a research function and looking for a Natural Research Lead to manage this brand new team. This is an exciting opportunity for an established catastrophe researcher to take the next step in their career and manage a new R&D team at this syndicate. In this highly visible role the successful candidate will work across all Natural Perils with a focus on Climate Change and will report into the Head of Climate Risks and Head of Cat Modelling.
The successful candidate will conduct model validation, development and evaluation based on the latest academic research and will present the findings to multiple stakeholders in the business to improve the view of risk and modelling processes. To get started this role will have one direct report who is an academic researcher with a PhD and the goal to grow the team in the future. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and experience using, developing and validating catastrophe models with a syndicate, broker or model vendor. Since this syndicate is a RMS shop preference will be given to candidates with experience working with RMS models, candidates with experience using AIR and Tigereye are also encouraged to apply.
