A Regulatory Risk Director role has arisen within a leading international bank in Dublin. This bank a sought after employer due to their strong reputation and career development opportunities.

Key duties are as follows:

  • Establish strong and effective relationships with a network of regional key stakeholders, partnering with senior colleagues in various risk management departments
  • Establish and maintain strong and effective relationships with US and International regulators for Basel-related topics
  • Serve as a key regional liaison with Internal Audit (IA) and external auditors on all significant Basel related issues
  • Collaborate in the ongoing maintenance of appropriate Basel-related capital policies
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a central repository for Basel related interpretations and review results
  • Support the Global head on a wide spectrum of Risk management and governance activities related to Risk and Basel Capital
  • Represent function in New Product Approval and similar governance committees for the approval of new and complex transactions
  • Represent function for risk governance
  • Drive the interpretive process for Basel III Risk Weighted Asset ("RWA") measurement, providing effective and credible challenge to first line decisions for both the Standardized and Advanced Approaches
  • Together with Risk and the Business, ensure that internal and regulatory capital treatment for new products and complex transactions are consistent and that differences are appropriately explained

The ideal candidate will match the following description

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • 10+ years of work experience in the financial industry, preferably with risk management experience with credit risk, market risk and/or regulatory capital experience
  • Understanding of the underwriting, structuring, pricing and syndication and hedging of bank financing products (including derivatives and Securitized Financing Transactions), as well as risk management practices, is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Basel III and RWA
  • Excellent executive level communication skills are required: verbal, written and presentation, with ability to articulate complex concepts and translate into "user-friendly" language.
  • Experience on virtual teams, preferably in a global / complex / matrix organization, and ability to manage through influence
  • Proven track record of delivering results and strategic initiatives in a complex environment
  • Experience interacting with regulators
  • Ability to deliver difficult messages in a professional manner
  • A transformational mindset to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the processes
