Software Engineer (Full Stack) - London - (Hybrid) - Permanent - £80.000 - £90.000

I am currently working with a reinsurance company which is among the leading global providers of life reinsurance and financial solutions, who is looking for Software Engineer to work on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works with a team of offshore developers; reviews development team quality of work, time lines, and project risks.
  • Reviews the quality of, designs, tests, deploys and supports API-based systems focusing on industry best practices with a cloud-first emphasis.
  • Designs, develops, tests, deploys and supports API-based systems focusing on industry best practices with a cloud-first emphasis.
  • Perform code reviews, review technical test strategy / unit tests and guide the creation of appropriate technical documentation.
  • Ensures systems are built to adhere to SSDLC and GDPR requirements around security and data privacy.

Experience and Skills:

  • Proficiency in multiple tools of the full stack covering frontend frameworks, databases and deployments (MEAN, MERN technology stack preferred)
  • Proficiency developing software using Micro Service Architecture patterns
  • Experience working on AWS serverless deployments (or similar cloud-first software deployments) Experience with a variety of general programming languages
  • Knowledge of Test-Driven Development
  • Experience with a variety of database technologies

Technical Requirements:

  • JavaScript/Java/NodeJS
  • Cloud Technologies (AWS Preferred)
  • Relational DB technologies, Code review / quality tools like JSHint/JSLint, Mocha, Code Climate, NPM Dview, Swagger Docs

Beneficial:

  • 3+ years IT-related experience in software development.
  • Experience with rules engines or on projects that leverage complex business rules.
