Strategic & Insights Finance Business Partner

Global General Insurer is currently looking for a Finance Business Partner to join their London Distribution team which will closely with the Chief Distribution Officer. This is a newly created role and is an ideal opportunity for either an Insurance or Banking External Auditor looking to make their first move into industry or a FP&A candidate who is seeking a more strategic role as this position will drive the future performance of the Distribution and Sales function.


  • Business partner with the Distribution function including creating value through financial insight and working directly with stakeholders across business areas
  • of the monthly suite of financial reports delivered to the Distribution management team and hold the business to account for actions which have a positive impact on the performance of the Distribution business
  • financial business cases for Distribution led projects and have an understanding of project accounting
  • the financial plan and reforecasts for Distribution including embedding a driver based planning approach
  • for the monthly performance analysis of the Distribution UK expense base (including headcount management)
  • analysis and awareness of market insights and the risks and opportunities to the company and identify solutions where appropriate


  • Accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA)
  • working in External Audit with a Top 10 Consultancy across an Insurance client portfolio or working as a FP&A/FBP Role within the Insurance industry
  • ability to analyse and draw insights from numerical data to tell the underlying story
  • Proven ability to challenge existing processes from you current role
  • A high performer with exceptional analytical skills and an ability to make strategic recommendations
  • Excellent academic background - minimum 2:1 degree
  • Advanced Excel & Powerpoint Skills

This role involves regular interaction with key stakeholders at C-Suite level including acting as Co-Pilot to the Chief Distribution Officer so it is therefore imperative you have excellent interpersonal skills. The company offers realistic progression for career progression into a managerial role in the future.

This role offers a flexible hybrid working environment with 2 days in the office.
