Leading Investment Bank is currently searching for a Transaction Accounting Advisory VP to join their London desk. This role has been created through the current incumbent moving into a front office position and you will be responsible for supporting finance transactions throughout the Bank's Commodities and Global Markets businesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise on accounting policy for new products, restructurings, and complex transactions to the commodities trading desk.
  • Partner with range of stakeholders on the accounting implications of their business, recognising and communicating potential opportunities for more efficient outcomes
  • Point of contact to the front office so any accounting transactions queries
  • Shape the impact of forthcoming accounting and regulatory updates by recommending changes accordingly.
  • Work closely with the technical accounting team to keep abreast of new accounting developments
  • Ongoing process improvements across the finance function.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant (Ideally ACA Big 4 Trained) with post qualified experience from practice or the banking industry.
  • Proven experience within a technical role, advising on transactions, ideally with a focus on banking and financial services.
  • Strong derivatives accounting knowledge (ideally within Commodities)
  • Expert knowledge and experience of IFRS9 accounting standards.
  • Demonstrate a commercial mindset, with prior experience in translating technical theory into commercially viable answers.
  • Proven experience in training stakeholders on accounting updates.

This is a very high profile position within the bank and will involve regular interaction with key stakeholders at MD level and the trading desks, so it is therefore essential that you have strong interpersonal skills. The role provides a realistic progression to a Director role in the future and offers a hybrid flexible working environment.
