Our client, a leading Surety reinsurance company in North America and globally, is looking for a Head of Surety to manage their North American Surety portfolio. The client offers a diverse portfolio of clients across national, regional, and specialty segments. Their value proposition includes customer service, technical underwriting, and optimal solutions. The role involves leading Surety North America, reporting to the Head of Financial Risks.
The job involves executing the client's group underwriting strategy, managing client and broker relationships, and portfolio of contracts in North America to generate target return on capital for Surety North America. This includes results-oriented underwriting, acquiring and maintaining profitable business, and maintaining a senior market presence. The role also involves representing PartnerRe at market events, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines, and managing global accounts with other underwriters. The job also involves handling administrative tasks, such as reviewing contractual documents and data input, and monitoring market trends and economic developments.
The candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of reinsurance/insurance underwriting experience in North American Surety, with primary surety market experience a plus. They should have portfolio management and optimization experience, strong understanding of market trends, experience working in diverse environments, solid commercial, negotiation, and communication skills, and a self-motivated attitude. They should be proficient in MS Excel, Powerpoint, and Salesforce, adaptable, open to new ideas, and willing to travel.
